फ़िल्म के शीर्षक को पढ़कर मैं ख़ुद ही हैरान थी, क्योंकि अब तक तो तानाजी मालुसरे पढ़ते आए थे, ये अचानक तानाजी से तान्हाजी कैसे हो गए? जब एक मित्र ने इसके बारे में सही जानकारी दी, तब लगा कि इस फ़िल्म के लिए ख़ासा शोध किया गया है. फ़िल्म की सिनेमैटोग्राफ़ी कमाल की है. इस फ़िल्म को पूरे परिवार के साथ देखा जा सकता है, यह मानना है भारती पंडित का. और क्या कहना है उनका इस फ़िल्म के बारे में, आइए जानते हैं.

फ़िल्म के शीर्षक को पढ़कर मैं ख़ुद ही हैरान थी, क्योंकि अब तक तो तानाजी मालुसरे पढ़ते आए थे, ये अचानक तानाजी से तान्हाजी कैसे हो गए? पर फिर एक मित्र ने बताया कि उनका असली नाम तान्हाजी ही था, चूंकि वे तान्ही देवी की मन्नत से पैदा हुए थे. इससे यह भी समझ में आया कि इस फ़िल्म के लिए ख़ासा शोध किया गया है, कई इतिहासकारों से भी संपर्क किया गया है और इसका उल्लेख फ़िल्म में भी हुआ है.
इतिहास में शिवाजी राजे का काल एक प्रसिद्ध काल है, मुग़लों से अपने राज्य को बचाने के लिए की गई लड़ाइयां इतिहास में ख़ासा स्थान रखती हैं. उन्हीं लड़ाइयों में एक लड़ाई थी कोंडाणा, जिसे सिंहगढ़ भी कहा जाता था, के किले को जीतने की लड़ाई, जिसका नेतृत्व शिवाजी के एक सेनानायक तानाजी ने किया था, वह किला तो जीत लिया गया मगर तानाजी खेत रहे और उसी के लिए शिवबा ने कहा, “गढ़ आला पण सिंह गेला.” यानी सिंहगढ़ का किला तो जीत लिया मगर हमारा सिंह चला गया.
इस पर इसी शीर्षक से एक मराठी उपन्यास भी लिखा गया है, जिसे पढ़ा था मैंने. हालांकि उपन्यास में न तो इस तरह की भव्यता होती है, न ही इस तरह की लार्जर देन लाइफ़ वाली छवि… दृश्य-श्रव्य माध्यम इसीलिए अधिक अपील करता है.
तो फ़िल्म की बात करते हैं. अजय और काजोल की यह एक महत्वाकांक्षी फ़िल्म है, चूंकि अजय की पिछली कुछ फ़िल्में असफल रही थीं. राष्ट्रवाद की लहर के चलते और शिवबा के सेनापति के जीवन की महान गाथा होने से इस बार 150 करोड़ के बजट से बनी फ़िल्म की सफलता निश्चित थी. इसकी पहले दो दिन की ओपनिंग ने ही सारी लागत निकाल ली थी और बाक़ी हुआ खालिस मुनाफ़ा. आज एक हफ़्ते बाद भी थिएटर में भीड़ थी.
फ़िल्म में फ़ोटोग्राफ़ी बेहद कमाल की है. जिस तरह से कोंडाणा पर आक्रमण के दृश्य फ़िल्माए गए हैं, वह क़ाबिले तारीफ़ है. फ़िल्म के मुनाफ़े का चौथाई हिस्सा तो सिनेमैटोग्राफ़र को ही जाना चाहिए.
कहानी की बात करें तो शिवबा हैं, औरंगज़ेब है, जीजा माता हैं, तानाजी हैं, उनकी पत्नी सावित्री है और सबसे खूंखार राजपूत सेनापति जो मुग़ल सेना में जा मिला था, उदयभान सिंह है. कहानी कोंडाणा को संधि में हारने से लेकर जीजा माता के अपमान और कोंडाणा को वापस लेने की मुहिम के बीच की ही है. उपन्यास के मुताबिक शिवाजी की सेना गुरिल्ला युद्ध में सिद्धहस्त थीं, उनके पास एक जानवर घोरपड हुआ करती थी, जो किसी भी पथरीली सतह पर चिपक सकती थी और उसकी पकड़ इतनी मज़बूत होती थी कि उसके सहारे बंधी रस्सी से सैनिक पहाड़ पर चढ़ जाते थे. इस फिल्म में घोरपड़े बंधु की बात हुई है, मगर घोरपड का उल्लेख नहीं आया. बाक़ी सेना की कुशलता यहां भी दिखाई गई है.
अजय की फ़िल्मों और उनके अभिनय के प्रति मेरा झुकाव पहले से ही रहा है, मगर ईमानदारी से कहूं तो यदि अजय की तुलना बाजीराव मस्तानी के रणवीर से करूं तो अजय थोड़ा पीछे रह गए हैं. बातचीत में जो मराठी लहजा आना चाहिए था (बोला, या, चला, हो का, काय सांगता जिसे रणवीर और प्रियंका दोनों ने उम्दा तरीक़े से बातचीत में लाया था), यहां अजय के मुंह से कम सुनने को मिला और जो मिला उसमें मराठी पुट ग़ायब था. बाक़ी अभिनय में तो अजय शानदार हैं ही, आंखों से ही सब कुछ कह डालते हैं. काजोल ने भी अपना बेस्ट देने की कोशिश की है. दोनों पर्दे पर अच्छे लगे हैं. पर इन सबमें बाज़ी मार ले गए हैं सैफ़ अली, जिन्होंने क्रूर सेनापति की भूमिका इतनी क्रूरता से निभाई है कि उस सेनापति की आत्मा भी कह उठी होगी, बस कर भाई, अब रुलाएगा क्या…? एक-एक संवाद, एक-एक हाव-भाव…बस वाह ही निकलता है मुंह से. सैफ़ का इतना उम्दा अभिनय बहुत दिनों बाद देखने को मिला.
बाक़ी सभी ने अपनी-अपनी भूमिका के साथ न्याय किया है. चूंकि फ़िल्म में ऐक्शन अधिक हैं, संवादों की अधिक गुंजाइश थी भी नहीं. फ़िल्म में गीत न होते (विशेषतः कोंडाणा के किले में नृत्य वाला) तो अच्छा होता.
फ़िल्म में कॉस्ट्यूम बहुत बढ़िया बने हैं, देखने में अच्छा लगता है. लोकेशन बहुत बढ़िया चुनी गई हैं. बेहतरीन निर्देशन के लिए ओम राउत बधाई के पात्र हैं.
बस एक बात ज़रूर कहना चाहूंगी कि ये घटनाएं जिस समय की रही हैं, उस समय में एक देश, एक राष्ट्र जैसी कोई अवधारणा नहीं थी. जिसके पास जो भूभाग था, वही उसके लिए देश था अतः स्वराज का अर्थ भी उसी प्रदेश की स्वतंत्रता से हुआ करता था. ऐसे में शिवाजी और लक्ष्मीबाई के स्वराज्य और भगतसिंह और गांधी के स्वराज्य में मूलभूत अंतर था यह ध्यान रहे.
इस फ़िल्म को देखते हुए युद्ध की विभीषिका पर भी रंज हुआ. युद्ध केवल अपनी सीमाओं को बढ़ाने या शत्रु से सुरक्षा के लिए लड़े जाते थे और उनमें भयानक नर संहार होता था. अपेक्षाएं किसी और की और ख़ामियाज़ा कोई और भुगतता था. भूभाग रक्त रंजित हुआ करते थे, केवल सत्ता की भयावह अपेक्षाओं के चलते.
ख़ैर, यह फ़िल्म मनोरंजक और परिवार के साथ देखी जा सकने वाली है. ज़रूर देखिए. हां, कोशिश करें कि थ्री डी में न देखें. सारे गोले-बारूद अपने ही सिर पर आ बरसने का एहसास होता है और तकनीक के चक्कर में चेहरे के भाव समझ में ही नहीं आते.
